We recommend performing a self-examination of your mouth monthly. It is important to see an oral surgeon if you notice any of the following signs or symptoms:

The Biopsy and Diagnosis Process
Your visit will begin with a thorough clinical examination of your mouth, head, and neck. If an area of concern is identified, a biopsy is the most common next step. A biopsy is a simple, safe procedure where a small sample of the suspicious tissue is removed.
- Comfortable Procedure: This is often performed quickly and comfortably in our office using local anesthesia. For more extensive cases or for nervous patients, we offer IV sedation and Nitrous Oxide to ensure your complete comfort.
- Definitive Diagnosis: The tissue sample is sent to a specialized laboratory for analysis by a pathologist. Once we receive the results, we will create a personalized treatment plan tailored to your specific condition.
